Chris Garneau

Chris Garneau is an American singer and songwriter and musician. Garneau has a distinct sound with combined elements of folk, Americana, pop, baroque, & carnival music. Since releasing his debut album, Garneau has toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. In performance, Garneau usually places a lamp on the piano before playing.[1]

A review in The Village Voice compared Garneau to singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright.[2] Like Wainwright, Garneau is openly gay,[3] though he has stated that his sexuality does not directly affect his music

Garneau cites Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Nico, and Chan Marshall as influences.[3] He lives in Brooklyn, NY and is currently working on his second full-length album. After a recent performance, Garneau mentioned April 2008 as a likely release date for a second album.
